Universal Peace Prayer Non Denominational 30 Day Commitment to Internal and External PEACE Baby!

This is our Buddhist Fellowship Prayer that we say no matter what event we have.We ask that you consider saying this prayer and emailing this prayer, copying and letting others know about it!
It is truly non denominational (ok maybe not spelling that right!) and a beautiful way to start your day, or start your day over..See the Change you Wish to Be.Do it for thirty days.. And feel your heart open and your compassion grow and hurts and pains from the past release!

Let's be that Change! Today!

UNIVERSAL LOVE PRAYER
From the Metta Sutra
“May all beings be filled with joy and peace.
May all beings everywhere,The strong and the weak,
The great and the small,The mean and the powerful,
The short and the long,
the subtle and the gross:
May all beings everywhere,
Seen and unseen,
Dwelling far off or nearby,
Being or waiting to become:
May all be filled with lasting joy.
Let no one deceive another,
Let no one anywhere despise another,
Let no one out of anger or resentment
Wish suffering on anyone at all.
Just as a mother with her own life
Protects her child, her only child, from harm,
So within yourself let grow
A boundless love for all creatures.
Let your love flow outward through the universe,
To its height, its depth, its broad extent,
A limitless love, without hatred or enmity.
Then as you stand or walk,
Sit or lie down,
As long as you are awake,
Strive for this with a one-pointed mind;
Your life will bring heaven to earth.”

Peace and Prayers to the Dying Sea Turtles on the Beach in Brevard Today

After just jetting back from Seattle, I had to go to the beach, I love and live for the beach. Our beautiful natural resource, well one of many!
And low and behold, there were several Sea Turtle Eggs getting pulled out to sea.. And we did try to save them, but really I was told by Channel 13 News, that they checked with Sea Turtle Preservation Society and the only thing you can do is to move them toward higher ground, or sand I should say. And say a prayer, that's it. I did see people taking the eggs home, but I felt and believe they would probably die for sure then.

And as sad as it was, it is a cycle of life for Sea Turtles. They have lived thru horrible storms, erosion of the beach, etc and they still exist. I am one for saying a half hour worth of Om Mani Padme Hum Chants for all Sea Life, especially the Sea Turtles that will not make it this time around..
So is the cycle of life just as in the five remeberances:

Five Remembrances

“I am of the nature to grow old.

There is no way to escape growing old.

I am of the nature to have ill health.

There is no way to escape having ill health.

I am of the nature to die.

There is no way to escape death.

All that is dear to me and everyone I love,

Are of the nature to change.

There is no way to escape,

Being separated from them.

My actions are my only true belongings.

I cannot escape,The consequences of my actions.

My actions are the ground on which I stand.

By relying on the compassion of Buddha,

The wisdom of the Dharma,And the fellowship of Sangha.

May I realize my true nature

And liberate other beings from suffering. (bell & bow)

Beads come to life in WS

Ok how was I to know?? We were literally five minutes from Shipwreck beads, the largest bead store/online bizz in the world! 37 isles of pure bead bliss! :) Gotta love it!
Ok also, it was really crazy... I did not look up bead stores before bolting to WS... I just felt they would find me.. And so it was.. Barb, my bro in law's grrlfriend, said, hey you like beads, Shipwreck is like five minutes away! Ok bliss bead bliss, creative bliss! Happy dayz!So we truck on down there and it was amazing.. 37 isles of bliss, even a little eatting area....hmmm.. We got a all natural acai berry smoothie, bottle of water and I was off. I acutally have been doing jewelry so long, that I was able to go thru isle after isle in less then one hour.. I bolted... I also knew what I was looking for.. And had peeps waiting on me... :(
So I did get a score though.. two bags of Rudraksha beads for our peace/mala bracelets for Artisans for peace project! YAH! I also got some other kewl personal stash finds.. Will post them when I get back.. So really, I scored scored scored!
Making Malas

Let's start off with how to make meditation or prayer beads. The proper number for a wrist band is 27 beads. If you have a lot of beads available then the full length worn around the neck is 108 beads strung together. I recommend using heavy thread such as nylon string and doubling it over. Keep back a 6 inch piece of string at the beginning to use after the beads are strung on.Before the first bead, and between each bead strung on, I take the time to tie one or two knots - whatever it takes to hold the beads in place. When the last bead is knotted I use embroidery floss to make a small tassel. How to make the tasselUse a 36 inch piece of 6 strand embroidery thread. Fold it into 6 lengths. Set it aside for the moment. Tie together the free ends of string from making the prayer beads. Now lay the folds of embroidery floss across the knotted spot, center it and tie the tassel on with 2 knots. Use a separate 6 inch piece of embroidery thread to gather the tassel together near the top and knot tightly. Trim the tassel to the desired length. Anyone who meditates would certainly appreciate this gift. How to make a small pouch to hold prayer beadsThis is a nice gift for holding prayer beads when not using them. You'll need a piece of felt in the shape of a rectangle. 9 inches (22.5cm) long and 4 inches (10cm) wide is a good size. Fold up one short edge to form a pouch so that when you fold over the other end you have 3 even pieces. If you don't have felt, other ideas to use to make the pouch are plastic table cloth material and interfacing material.Using a paper hole punch, punch holes about one half inch apart along the 2 sides of the pouch. Using a long piece of yarn weave in and out of the holes to hold the pieces together to form the pocket. Tie a knot at each end. And there you have your little pouch or pocket. If you use a sewing needle you can sew the sides of the pouch closed with a contrasting embroidery thread. By using felt you don't need to further finish any edges. You could easily make one of these for everyone in your family or friends - they are handy for all sorts of small objects. Remember that Christmas or birthdays are times for giving to show care and remembrance. Little gifts you make yourself will always be treasured.Article by Susan Kramer

Rudraksha beads bags of them found in Olympia, WA

Washington State and Peaceful Moments

I am in Washington State with Tony visiting Tony's WS Family members and exploring the state.
While we were in Olympia area, one morning sitting outside (ok it is cold, cooler here) bundled up and at peace at a family members backyard enjoying the ambiance that has been created, and of course peace and quiet, when we are suddenly shocked back to reality with boom, boom, boom..... And it continued. We found out that the sound was guns going off. Fort Lewis Military Base and that is pretty close to where we were staying.... Fort Lewis has a regular routine of shooting off guns. They actually publish it in the paper, so you know when not to sit outside and enjoy your garden, coffee, etc...
I found this interesting.. I had a preconceived idea that WS is so mucho more consciously awake then Florida. So much more open and aware of the importance of peace, etc.I do want to mention that I had been saying Om mani padme hum chant for about hour while sitting outside before the sounds of guns went off. I realized we could have gotten up made signs and went to protest at the entrance of the Military Base and letting them know peace is the answer, etc. But what I realized at that time that the most powerful thing we can do as a society is pray, chant, meditate. Whatever the flavor maybe, that is the change we wish to see.
So peace is not necessarily canned and labeled in WS, and the consciousness isn't necessarily branded here. See the Change you wish to be, live it, breath it, right where you are!

When it rains it pours!

I have some incredible pieces at What you love to do in Cocoa Village, Great shoppe, great peeps!

And this bracelet has been there for about three months.. And it finally sold, then someone else came in the next day or so for it! Funny! Ahhhhh..

I know that is the deal with selling your stuff.. Been there and done that and done that... :)

Ok also, I find that well doing custom work is a pain, I would rather sell what I have, unless I know the person then it is a wonderful exchange of energy... Also I must side note, that that's how I feel today.. Tommorow I may be all for custom work! I use to do alot when I sold jewelry for a living.. I loved doing it then! :)

Ok I am a huge sell out when it comes to Ipods.. I just ordered the I I touch Second Edition I pod.. It just came out, seems like that is always the deal.. I get their updated emails and most of the time delete them before I read them, but of course I say the new Nano.. I had to see it and picked open the email and book chromatic brilliant colors and slim little design.. But it looks like it would break easy!!! So tiny tiny and thin and petite and fragile.. At least to me! They had it at Circuit City in Melbourne at the Mall! They only had chrome black! But now have chrome blue! I only saw it in the package just so tiny! Awesome colors though! I opted for sixty dollars more to get the touch 2nd generation.. It is so easy to use and awesome features.. Being online Yah !! Videos, lectures, dvds, etc etc!

I love that you can do like almost everything from it, even blog! Esp when I am on the road or traveling like I will be doing! :)

Beaded Prayer Project

Beaded Prayer Project

My friend Deb Taylor turned me on to this project! Check out her blog at:
What is the Beaded Prayers Project? The project engages people of all ages and backgrounds to create beaded packets that contain their prayers, wishes, hopes or dreams. Each participant creates two sealed beaded packets: one to keep in celebration of individuality and the other for the travelling exhibit, Beaded Blessings, which is displayed in sites throughout the world in celebration of unity and diversity.

Why is it called the Beaded Prayers Project? The word prayer is used because the project comes from the Old English word for "bead", biddan, which means "to ask or to pray". Sonya Clark combined the history of the words "bead" and "prayer" with her research into the healing and protective amulet traditions of the African Diaspora to create the Beaded Prayers Project.

50 Ways to Build World Peace Poster

Making Peace Flags

I got this info from a kewl beanz website: The Peace Flag Project
(1) Peace flags are made by tearing rather than cutting the fabric. The fabric should be torn into squares of 9 x 9 inches or 12 x 12 inches. Small flags could be 6 x 6 inches.
(2) When you prepare to create your flags, it is important to relax and enter the peacefulness of your heart. From that quiet space, begin to think of the wishes you would most like to send out to the world.
(3) Write or draw your wishes and blessings on the flags using magic markers or fabric paint. Leave a small margin at the top so you can fold the flag over twine.
(4) When you have finished your flags, secure them by folding the top edge of each flag over the twine, and glue, staple or sew the folded edge to the flag. You can hang them in the traditional order of blue, white, red, green and yellow.

This is a great way to gather folx together, create and doing something to help create PEACE!

Organic Cotton & Hemp Ribbon for Making bracelets Idea

Ok saw these on Etsy! Love them.. I ordered some organic hemp/cotton ribbon to make bracelets from, with the word peace stamped on them. This is where I got the idea.. I love this Etsy Grrl's stuff! check her out at: Palomas Nest
She was a featured Etsy Seller! Great reading about her too...
I dunno but to me Etsy is like (well my hubby thinks so) my great love on line.. Blogging is another, and of course getting together and creating...
I may go to the Flea Market on Eau Gallie before I jet off to Seattle (sounds so luxurious) hahaa... He has good stuff, Kewl Beads, or something like that.. Nice Coral, Turqouise stuff.. Unreal actually how nice his stuff is and how great the prices are! Rock on!

Murdocks Restaurant...

We meet and talk, and laugh, and hug and share! It is wonderful!
Everyone makes such kewl stuff and they are really beautiful pieces!

SO talented, and different. I think right now I am the only one doing cards,

altered paper art.. I have stuff to take to them to give away.. To share!
It is such great bliss out Creative Artisan Blues time!

When I Say Artisan Blues, I mean like Blue is my fav color and I see it

as the sky, sea, ocean, eyes, berries.......

Ahhh..

So tommorow is a fun day! After Spa Day! Yah!

Spa Day Today

Ok what could be better?

I create my own spa dayz, to one, make me feel gooooood, and two to pamper myself before we fly away on the big bird Monday.. Since it is so drying to the skin... :(
But also, I am feeling the need to just be today. I am listening to Easy Listening tunes on my tv, and writing in my blogs, and reading blogs, and just being. May do some etsy searches...

Ok for my bath I do: 2 extra large pieces of Sea Weed, I use kelp, but any big pieces will do.
2 cups of Lavender sea salts.. A few drops of tea tree... I use Get Real Lemon Scrub Soap (all natural of course!), and while in the tub, I rub the sea weed all over me, it has a oily feel to it, and make sure to lay it on my face for at least five minutes... ahhh..
Then when done in the tube, you can take a cold shower.. Today I didn't I may later though..
I also drink water, tea while in the tube, today I have jasmine tea :)
Once out of the tub, I put a natural sea weed mask on my face for about fifteen minutes or so.
Relax, listen to music, etc..
Then rinse, and apply this organic refined bamboo scrub... It is a really intense fine scrub, and it feels great, but today before that I used Planet Spa Hawaiian Volcanic Mask Scrub, it isn't a refined. My grrlfriend sells Avon and I use it (even though it isn't all natural, I love it, and Reiki it before every use!)...
Then after all that I spritz my face with a tea tree oil and distilled water spirtz, and apply jojoba and gotu kola oil under eyes and between brow....
Hmmmm Feel really good now..
I just disconnect from everyone, even my doggies, they are having fun with my hubby laying around and chilling...
I also make up the bed nice, clean up the bathroom nice nice, and put on nice loungey cloths... :)
Although I try to do that everyday, after all if you want to manifest beauty and prospierty then start at home!
Ahhhh, is all I can say!
Bliss

One Week Till Seattle Artisan Blues Journey

Satellite Beach is not the mecca for bead, stamping, altered art finds.. :(But I do have to say I have been really blissed with etsy and the little beauties that have beckoned to take them home!I just got scored three hand carved Buddha beads, that in person, well they are going to stay a while needless to say! :)There are so many bead and stamping stores in Washington State that I am going to be in Artisan Blues Bliss! Universal Love Prayer For everyone :)

“May all beings be filled with joy and peace.
May all beings everywhere, The strong and the weak,
The great and the small,
The mean and the powerful,
The short and the long, the subtle and the gross:
May all beings everywhere,
Seen and unseen,
Dwelling far off or nearby,
Being or waiting to become:
May all be filled with lasting joy.
Let no one deceive another,
Let no one anywhere despise another,
Let no one out of anger or resentment Wish suffering on anyone at all.
Just as a mother with her own life Protects her child, her only child, from harm,
So within yourself let grow A boundless love for all creatures.
Let your love flow outward through the universe,
To its height, its depth, its broad extent,
A limitless love, without hatred or enmity.
Then as you stand or walk, Sit or lie down,
As long as you are awake,
Strive for this with a one-pointed mind;
Your life will bring heaven to earth.”

Peace begans at home and in our hearts... First and Foremost~

And alot easier said then done!

To be at Peace is a state of mind, or rather heart. To be in acceptance of all that occurs, as well as all that we encounter. Knowing that everything is as it should be. Letting go, accepting, embracing. Our Western culture shows us how to hold on, to our stuff, to our thoughts, our tribal upbringings, and to our way of life. Change is not a word most of us are comfortable with. Unfortunately it is the only constant... EVER~

If my heart is open then my mind can be at rest.. My heart hears, sees, and thinks for me. My mind is useful for alot of stuff, although at this moment I don't remember what! Hahaha~

I have made a commitment to increase the peace within in home.. With my doggies, Hubby, myself and anyone who enters our home. That is the starting spot for me. And I am able to start little by little following along that commitment. Bathing my doggies in love, accepting my hubbys personality and little quirks, as well as giving him space to manuever in life. I am also giving myself the ability to manuever in life without judgement and the self critic.

It seems as though the ability to be, to live, to enjoy comes from my acceptance and peace toward myself..

Working on that one, that is a for sure constant!

I have found online some really kewl pictures of peace.

That I dig and am sharing them!

Peace Corner Event :(

Didn't get to go to it on Wed... Hopefully next month!
I did email the group organizer and let her know we do support their efforts and will make it next month! Hopefully some of the other members of the fellowship will also be part of this happening every month, till the end of the war~!

Seems like their are alot of wonderful groups. We are also participating in the Space Coast Progressive Alliance Progressive Fest! We are looking forward to being part of it and also supporting the other groups out there who are on the same path toward peace, unity and awakening toward the well-being of our body's, mind and spirit!
I love this picture of this young Buddhist Monk sitting and just being, thinking, resting, whatever, it feels like peace to me....

Labor Dayz Newzz

This was the style of the armband we receive free from the kewl chickiepoo who made them and handed them out at the Peace Rally in Melbourne on Saturday :)Our Group plans on making these as well as other kewl creative stuff, bracelets, a flag, post cards, etc etc etc!

Rock on Peaceniks!

Today is gorgeous out btw! I am going to Jo-Ann's for their big labor day weekend sale.. I have my list of goodies needed to start some of our new projects we will be working on....Today is also the day I start backup with my art healing journal! :) It has started to be fun, oh yah better then therapy, crying, or being depressed for days! I use chipboard cut outs, rubber stamps, colored pencils, stamp pads, sponges, markers, words from magazines, etc etc..I got the idea last nite from looking thru a few art journal books and ATC books too take pictures of the pages I dig in my Healing Art Journal and copying them and glueing them on the ATC cards... That could be interesting.. Cause some of my stuff is so colorful and playful, other pages are dark and sad.. But the kewl thing is,, it is coming out of me and I just like that it isn't so painful, more though provoking, almost as though I am looking at someone elses work.. :)

Peace March in Melbourne on Saturday Update and Beginning of Artisans of Peace

Well yesterday was amazzzzzing! With our peeps for sure.

Out of the Peace March this group was created, and the women who inspired me was the lovely lady giving out peace armbands that were knitted... Lovely Lovely Stuff!

Our Buddhist Fellowship has been wanting to do a Creative Zen Group where we get together and do creative stuff but this seems to have taken on a life of it's own.

Micheal and Tony last nite really solidified it for us. We talked about what we could make, etc, and were originally going to call it Hookers for Peace!

But I realized today we aren't going to just be doing crocheting, but also a few other ideas came to me..

So Artisans for Peace! We will meet once monthly (or more if folx want to) at Unity Church in Melbourne, and create stuff to hand out at Peace Marches, Rallys, events, etc.
Unity of Melbourne is having Peace in Park, so we will be making something for everyone for that day.I will post a picture of the armband that (I don't know her name at this time) lovely lady handed out to the group! :)
