MOO: An inspiration flash

We love to print, January 2008
In this issue we:
  • Explain a card isn't just a card
  • Tell you about our Mini-competition
  • Remind you Easter is coming
  • It's the MOOsLETTER!
'Just a card'? We think not!

As more people are starting their own small businesses, we see creative and unexpected uses of our products, everywhere. Today, we thought we'd share a couple of great ideas with you.

MiniCard packaging 1. Pretty perfect packaging
This beautiful little gift set, was created by Etsy seller, Tamar. Ready to post, three little hair grips are attached to a MiniCard of her own design, which, of course, displays her details on the reverse.
    We love this idea, because:
it's easy, attractive, professional, ready to post, and perfect advertising for your store. When the giver hands over the gift, they're also handing out your url, so the lucky recipient can come back and buy something else to match!
    Also works for:
Jewellery - we've seen lots of people using MiniCards in a similar way, for earrings. They also make a wonderful display at craft fairs.

    2. 100% original
Business Cards hang-tags These beautifully designed hang tags were created by T-Shirt designer, Squink. Created from Business Cards, printed on 'MOO Green Stock', they double up as signed, numbered certificates of authenticity.
    We love this idea, because:
It's simple, personal, and adds value to the products you sell. It's also a great use of the PDF upload for Business Cards: upload a complete design for the front and back of your cards.
    Also works for:
Any handmade product - if they're one of a kind why not shout about it!

See more ideas on the blog, and share your own!

New MiniCard boxes - a Mini photo competition

We've just started shipping our MiniCards in new boxes! If you're one of the lucky people who has received one, or will do any day soon, take part in our mini-competition, to win a free pack.

The hunt for Easter ideas is on!

MOO Easter ideas As you can probably tell from the ever increasing number of chocolate eggs in the supermarket, Easter will soon be up on us! Those who follow our twitter feed will know, we've just had a mini scavenger hunt at SXSW, but why not have your own this Easter? Use Text MiniCards to create 100 different clues and hide them around the house or the garden.

    Win $25,000 with Blurb

We often talk about using a pack of MiniCards or Business Cards as a 'portfolio in your pocket'. If someone asks you what you do, show them! On second meeting, if need a more traditional portfolio, one-of-a-kind book printers, Blurb, are the folks for you. They recently contacted us to tell us about their Photography Book Now competition. With a $25,000 prize, and the chance to get your work in front of renowned experts in the field it sounds like a great opportunity. Good luck!

    And that's all for now,

    See you soon,
    The MOO Crew

My 15 Things List from 43Things!

Ok I should say back to Florida!

We moved to Cali from Florida.. Ok everyone thinks oh wow Cali is so greeeaat! Florida sucks, etc! Not me! I love Florida! It is my home, I lived there for over 16 years and love it! We moved due to a job opportunity my hubby got in Santa Barbara.. I miss Florida so bad, the weather here is cold and foggy, and the people are the same as Floridians… We hope to go back in a year or so after the building industry takes off again! Fingers crossed!

Saw Howard Wills and getting deeper into Forgiveness Prayers

To heal my soul wounds, I decided to go see Howard Wills with the coaxing of a friend who knows him personally. I saw Howard last Thursday nite in Santa Barbara he was very healing and did a great job at attending to the needs of the people who came to get healed. He did heal me by prayer of my migraines that have plagued me since a child! For that I will be always grateful! I did go then on Sat. to Hollywood and was part of a smaller crowd. I purchased his forgiveness prayers CD and downloaded it on my Itouch. I started to listen and repeat them yesterday. They are more in depth then the prayers I got from online! I notice when I do them I feel more free and relaxed! Forgiveness is the name of the game to heal my soul wounds!

    Working toward this goal

I just moved and found a Buddhist Sangha only one mile from my house! YAH! I am going to start going next monday nite. It is a UU Buddhist Sangha.. I am in need of some real connections with a sangha and others on the path. I do have my ritual daily that I do, but I am wanting to plug in deeper to the Dharma and meditation thru a Buddhist Teacher.. More will be revealed! For Sure!

    Crochet my life away! Hopefully!

Ok I am wanting to learn to crochet, I have a DVD, books, hooks, yarn, etc! I am the only one holding me back. For some reason I have a block when it comes to the needle arts! I am very artistic and able to do alot with almost every medium, except this one! I am working to overcome my fear or really it is like a phobia, anxiety! So I am going to start watching the DVD and attending FREE locale classes in Ventura….More will be revealed!
